Case study
Goode Capital Trading Platform
Production trading systems for a London oil derivatives desk: exchange connectivity, real-time pricing, and trader workflows.
In production
The problem
At Goode Capital, an independent oil derivatives trading firm, the desk needed reliable production systems connecting exchange market data to daily trader workflows — with low tolerance for failure on revenue-critical pricing and connectivity.
What I built
- FIX adapter for ICE exchange connectivity using QuickFIX/J
- Real-time Excel add-in for desk pricing used daily by traders
- TypeScript/Node.js WebSocket sync between exchange feeds and Excel workflows
- AWS deployment for the FIX adapter and Excel pricing add-in
- Pricing history database on Amazon RDS for the add-in
- Production support with traders and the operations team
My role
- Full-stack engineer on production trading systems (2024–2026)
- End-to-end delivery: exchange integration, desk tools, cloud deployment, and live support
- Worked with the trading desk stakeholder throughout build and production rollout

Status & learnings
Reinforced that production trading environments demand pragmatic architecture, clear communication, and reliable delivery. The systems support an important part of the firm's revenue-generating workflow.
Janos helped us build a complex project from scratch into a production system, supporting an important part of our revenue-generating workflow. I would happily work with him again in the future.
